Trip to the Botanic Gardens

We were so lucky with the weather on Monday. We had an amazing day learning about worms at the Curator's house then learning about insects in the discovery centre at the Museum.

Pete was from the Christchurch City Council and he taught us about worm farms. We even got to make our own worm farm- these will be coming home soon!

This is where the worms lived- we carefully chose 5 worms each to live in our worm farms.

Taking turns to mulch up the newspaper and fertiliser for our worm farms

We then ventured to the museum where we came face to face with some magnificent Insects

Putting the pieces of the puzzle back together- an insect and an arachnid

Face to face with a Tarantula!

Andrew learning what it is like to be a fly and what the world looks like to a fly!

Look at the size of this one!
